一、 Project Background
Oil field development projects in Myanmar are usually located in remote areas with weak power grid infrastructure and unstable power supply. The traditional method of relying on diesel power generation is not only expensive, but also generates noise pollution, affecting the rest environment of workers' living areas. At the same time, the transportation and storage of diesel also pose safety and environmental risks.
This project plans to adopt a solution of "daytime photovoltaic+diesel hybrid power supply, nighttime off grid energy storage power supply" to reduce diesel consumption, lower operating costs, improve the living environment, and enhance the energy reliability of oilfield operations.
二、 Energy Status and Challenges in Myanmar
1. Insufficient power grid coverage, low electricity penetration rate in Myanmar, remote areas relying on diesel generators or small microgrids for power supply, and poor power supply stability. Oilfield operations require 24-hour continuous power supply, but the power grid cannot meet the demand and requires independent power generation.
2. Limitations of diesel power generation
High cost: Diesel prices fluctuate greatly, and long-term fuel costs account for a high proportion.
Noise pollution: Diesel generators operating at night affect workers' rest and lower their quality of life.
Maintenance and environmental issues: Diesel engines require frequent maintenance and have high carbon emissions, which does not conform to the trend of green energy.
3. Renewable energy potential
Myanmar has abundant sunshine resources (with an average annual sunshine of about 2000-2500 hours), making it suitable for the development of photovoltaic power generation.
Photovoltaic+energy storage can significantly reduce diesel dependence and lower long-term operating costs.
4. System advantages
Economy: Reduce diesel consumption by 30% -50% and shorten the investment payback period.
Reliability: Energy storage+diesel dual backup, ensuring 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.
Environmental friendliness: Reducing carbon emissions, in line with the international trend of sustainable energy development.
三、 Project necessity
1. Reduce operating costs, photovoltaic power generation can significantly reduce diesel consumption, save fuel expenses in the long run, optimize energy utilization of energy storage systems, and reduce inefficient operation time of diesel engines.
2. Improve the quality of life by shutting down diesel generators at night, eliminating noise, and increasing worker satisfaction. Stable power supply ensures production safety and reduces downtime losses caused by power outages.
四、 Purpose
This project effectively solves the power supply problem of Myanmar's oil fields, reduces operating costs, and improves nighttime noise pollution through a hybrid power supply solution of "photovoltaic+diesel+energy storage". This model is not only applicable to oil fields, but can also be extended to off grid or weak grid scenarios such as mining areas and industrial parks, with high economic and sustainable benefits.
